Features Enhanced Mark Detection,
New User Interface, Greater Manageability
Hoffman Estates, Ill. July 22, 2001 -- Tangent Systems Inc. announced the release of version 2.0
of its flagship product DocuTran® II at the TAWPI Work
Process/2001 Summit in New Orleans. The new version features
a host of new capabilities, including enhanced mark detection
(OMR), an improved user interface and greater manageability.
DocuTran II is a proven, robust and flexible software solution
for high-speed document imaging and transaction processing
applications.
Real-time Mark Detection
The new release contains a significant
upgrade to DocuTran’s
image analysis feature known as Customer Notation Detection
(CND). The CND software can now identify and sort documents
in real-time on select transports, providing greater operational
flexibility. For example, documents with missing signatures
or address changes can be out-sorted automatically. This
feature eliminates the labor required for manual "exception
item pull" in many applications and is essential in
other applications.
Improved User Interface
In addition, DocuTran version 2.0 has
a new, more graphical appearance. The new user interface
provides the ease and familiarity of a standard Windows" point and click" interface,
while retaining all the "heads-down data-entry" efficiency
of a keyboard based environment. The new interface satisfies
the differing needs of production keyers, knowledge workers
and occasional users. Nearly all screens now sport context-sensitive
button bars and guide menus that significantly reduce the
time needed to train new employees. An enhanced set of configurable
image display options have also been added for scaling and
aspect ratio control.
Greater Manageability
DocuTran II release 2.0 offers increased remote manageability.
New system event notifications can now automatically alert
a supervisor or support staff to a range of system conditions
or errors via pagers, e-mails, etc. This feature can enhance
reliability and ensure that any problems are resolved quickly.
As more customers run 24x7 and incorporate distributed processes
such as remote image keying into their operations, this feature
provides an essential watch over the distributed components
and the network infrastructure.
