DocuTran II Compatibility with NCR
Transport Means More Flexibility for Tangent Users
January 12, 2000— Users of Tangent Systems Inc.’s
DocuTran® II software can now choose the NCR line of
transports for their high-speed, high-volume transaction
processing needs.
The NCR 7780 is the latest transport
to be integrated with Tangent’s DocuTran II software.
The platform can be used for image and non-image proof-of-deposit
and remittance applications, reject and return processing,
ATM balancing and image archive applications. The transport
has a modular, reliable and flexible design that provides
advanced, affordable imaging, non-imaging and recognition
technologies that improve the productivity of item processing
operations.
DocuTran II is a proven Windows NT-based software solution
for high-speed, mission-critical document processing environments.
The completely scalable software supports organizations that
are processing from 2,000 to more than 1 million transactions
a day.
"Our support of additional transport models has always
been driven by the needs of our extensive installed base
of customers, as well as our prospective customers," said
Bruce Rennecker, vice president of sales and marketing for
Tangent Systems. "Our customers were asking for NCR
scanner support within DocuTran because NCR transports are
proven, reliable products that are known for their flexible
paper handling. Many of our customers process non-standard
documents, and they can take advantage of the features found
on the NCR 7780."
NCR’s support for the Windows NT
platform allows DocuTran II to integrate with both current
and future NCR transports. Many of the NCR 7780 transports
installed in the field today can be easily upgraded to
run with DocuTran.
Proven, Flexible, Parameter-based Design
DocuTran II is transport-independent and parameter-based
for maximum flexibility, lower cost and faster turnaround
time. The software runs on Windows NT and Novell servers,
making it a cost-effective way to automate high-speed, high-volume
document processing operations such as checks, remittances,
order forms, coupons, stock proxies, sales drafts and more.
Tangent’s DocuTran software supports
transports made by BancTec, IBM, NCR, Panini, and Unisys.
