About Us
Tangent Systems is a leader in
the field of high speed document processing software. Tangent
provides a variety of products and services to the
document processing industry. Coupling the efficiency of
high speed document readers with software to provide image
display and workflow control, Tangent Systems allows our
customers to process a wide range of documents quickly, efficiently,
and easily.
Using industry standard platforms such
as Windows workstations and servers, Tangent Systems provides power,
robustness, and functionality that is unsurpassed in the industry.
Our facility is located about 20 miles northwest of Chicago's O'Hare Airport in Illinois (click here for a map). This facility is equipped to allow for integration, staging, and testing of all equipment to ensure that all components are operational and the system is functional before shipment to the customer site.

Our Mission
To design, sell
and support unique image document processing solutions through
a direct sales force, OEMs, and value added resellers, worldwide.
Our History
Formed in January, 1984 to provide
document processing systems and software, Tangent Systems
Inc. designs, develops, integrates, and sells a specialized
software product under the name DocuTran. DocuTran is a proven
application platform for controlling high speed document
processing equipment, operator data entry, and data completion.
Tangent Systems has installed more than 200 high volume production
systems utilizing bar-code, OCR, ICR, MICR, and OMR technologies
worldwide. Products for more standardized applications, such
as remittance and transit, have been marketed in cooperation
with several major vendors and a world
wide network of distributors. Contract services include application
product specification, design consulting, turnkey application
software development, project management and training.
In 1991, Tangent Systems was
the first company to release a PC based, high speed image
document processing solution.
